Jack Dewar, a Master Gardener, will bring kits for taking soil samples, explain how to take the sample, and how to interpret the results. Using these results can help you correct the pH of your soil or know what nutrients might be low. |

David DeKort's Hybridizing Program
David DeKort is fairly new to hybridizing daylilies, but he has really done his homework, bought some great parents and come a long way in a short time. He is registering his first cultivar this year and will show us his program through a PowerPoint Presentation. |

Plant sale at Cape Fear Botanical Garden
Sandhills Daylily Club members will again have a table to sell daylilies at the CFBG plant sale. The day for preparation for the sale will probably be April 24, but keep an eye out for any changes. The clumps of plants that were dug from CFBG last year are at the Barnes' garden in Wade and the dividing and washing of plants will be done there. |

Club picnic in a garden and final show preparation.
We will meet in a member's garden (still to be determined)for a picnic and make final preparations for the show. For members who are interested a demonstration of choosing scapes and preparing them for the show will be given. |

The annual daylily show and sale will be held at Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton, NC, on June 6. All entries must received by the classification
committee between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. |

| Meeting Information | | Meetings are on 4th Thursday of the month from February - October (often we skip June since we have our flower show in early June) and are usually held at Friendship Baptist Church, 3232 Davis St., Hope Mills, NC.
Come early for the meal(6:00 p.m.); program starts about 6:45.

| Membership | | We have members who drive regularly from as far as Lumberton and Red Springs to the South and Dunn and Erwin to the North. We invite anyone within driving distance to join us. We are a very low key, informal group. Dues are only $10 a year.

| Club Projects | | The Bettie Jernigan Daylily Garden at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden is our major club project.
An AHS sanctioned show and sale are held at Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton each June.
We often have a club tour on the Sunday after the show.
