Brookgreen Gardens
The Georgetown Area Daylily Club is proud to be sponsoring the daylily walk at Brookgreen Gardens in Pawleys Island, SC. Club members donated daylilies from Region 15 hybridizers to be featured in the bed. The club has renewed their membership of Brookgreen Gardens, so we will be able to enjoy our new daylily bed whenever we want!

There will be four wonderful gardens on this tour. Two of the four are also hybridizers who are doing some very nice work, so those that enjoy strolling through seedling beds to get a look of what is coming, there will be plenty to see for those folks also. Please do plan to join us.

We will gather as a club to vote in the Populaarity Poll.  great discussion of the blooms for consideration has always taken place as they are shown in order in a slide show.  forms will be provided for voting.

Regional and National Photo Tour

 

We will collect slides from members who attended the National and Regional Conventions to show everyone the great gardens, spectacular blooms, and generous owners who shared their gardens.

 

We will also have our fifth annual plant exchange.  Bring in your extras—they don’t have to be just daylilies.  You can get rid of your excess and take home something new and exciting for your garden.

What an exciting meeting!  Bid on old favorites, expand your collection, or snap up something new for your hybridizing program.  Anyone can donate plants for the auction – the money raised helps the club with speakers and bus trips, plus memorial contributions sent to AHS.

Betsy Seymour - Using Natural Materials to Decorate for the Holidays

We are honored to have Betsy Seymour provide a demonstration on using natural materials from our gardens in holiday decorations.  Betsy has held numberous workshops in the Charlotte, NC area and has presented on televiison on Charlotte Today, which was picked up by USA Today.  this refreshingly different presentation will help us all be ready for holiday entertaining!

Join us as we celebrate the holidays with all our daylily friends.  

 

 

 

ØEach person brings a gift valued from $15- $25. 

 

ØNumbers will be drawn to see what order you choose a gift.  Remember the first and the last called are the best numbers. 

 

ØWhen your number is called you can choose a wrapped gift or pick one someone else has already opened. 

 

ØIf someone takes your gift, then you choose another wrapped gift. 

 

ØA particular gift cannot be stolen more than 2 times in an effort to control how long the event will take. 

 

ØThe person with the first number can chose from any of the opened gifts

 

ØSwiping of gifts will be done in the spirit of Christmas, with cheerful respect mixed with lively good humor and camaraderie  

 

 

 

The club will provide the meats and drinks; bring your special Christmas covered dish.
