AHS Awards and Garden Judging

Want to learn more about them what garden judges look for, maybe even spark your own interest in becoming a garden judge?  At this meeting, we will review the many awards presented by AHS.  We’ll review garden judging and how judges learn to look at the “whole plant” in evaluating what makes a great garden plant.  We’ll review how foliage, plant vigor, scape height, bud placement, overall beauty and distinction of the bloom and plant, resistance to disease, form, and bloom substance affect scoring.  This overview will enable you to recognize outstanding plant performance.

To be held at Dick N. Johnson Civic Center
