About the Club
The Central Daylily Club's first meeting was in November, 2000. Our club usually meets at the Graham Public Library located at 211 S. Main St, Graham, NC. on the second Sat of each month at 9:00 AM.

The general public is always invited to attend meetings.

The purpose of the Central Daylily Club is to promote and encourage the development of Hemerocallis (the daylily), to increase public interest therein, and to increase fellowship among those interested in Hemerocallis.

Four AHS Display Gardens are in the area: Alice and Herman's Daylilies, Marlette's Daylilies, Greeson Gardens, and Albright Garden.

Membership Information
Any person interested in the objectives of the Club is eligible for membership. Annual Membership dues are $10.00 (single) or $15.00 (couple).

AHS (American Hemerocallis Society) membership is not necessary but is encouraged. Please contact anyone of the club officers for more information on joining our club and club activities.

    FLOWER SHOW 2007

Results for the Central Daylily Club AHS flower show held at the Burlington Square Mall, Burlington, NC on June 16, 2007. Total exhibits 200, On-scape 196 and Off-scape 4.

Best in Show: 'H. Just Another Yellow'

Best in Section, Division I: Section 1. Extra Large: 'H. Red Volunteer' (W. Oakes 1984) exhibited by Carolyn G. Albright, Section 2. Large: 'H. Just Another Yellow' (C. Hanson 1999) exhibited by Greg Piotrowski, Section 3. Small: 'H. Nutmeg Spice' (E.R. Joiner 1997) exhibited by Carolyn G. Albright, Section 4. Miniature: 'H. Little Grapette' (Mrs. W.G. Williamson 1970) exhibited by Margaret J. Waggoner, Section 5. Double: 'H. Totally Awesome' (S.G. Ward 1993) exhibited by Carolyn G. Albright, Section 6. Spider: 'H. Serge Rigaud' (J. Dickerson 1995), exhibited by Sharon Yarbrough Section 7. Unusual Form: 'H. Star Trooper' (V. Santa Lucia 2004) exhibited by Greg Piotrowski, Section 8. Youth: ‘H. Little Fat Cat’ (E.C. Brown 1992) exhibited by Loren Margaret Wait, Section 9. Pop. Poll: 'H. Carnival In Mexico' (V. Santa Lucia 2000) exhibited by James D. Sovine Section 10 had no representatives on the head table.

    Sweepstakes Rosette: Sharon Yarbrough

For the 200 exhibits on the tables, 42 purple ribbons and 119 blue ribbons were awarded, meaning 21% of the exhibits scored 95 or above and 60% scored 90 or better. Just fewer than half the entries in the show were in Division I Section 2, Large Flowers. There were 25 purple ribbons in Large flower, making the choice of “best in section” a very difficult decision. Clearly large flowers are the most popular daylilies.
